Baby driver movie review

So I have been reading a lot of reviews about the movie; "baby driver" and it made me so hungry for the film, that I had to do anything to watch it while still in cinemas despite my busy schedule. Do I think it's a great movie? No! I do not! Despite the approvals from so many reviewers, i do not think baby driver is the sort of film to leave a mark while  leaving  the audience coming for more. Baby driver is not all that bad too. In my personal opinion, I would say it's just a good movie. With a rating of 6/10.
Baby driver is a 2017 action film, directed by Edgar Wright. It stars Ansel Elgort, Kevin Spacey, Lily James, Eiza González, Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx, and Jon Bernthal.

Plot
The movie is centered around a young get away driver named "baby" ( played by Ansel Elgort) whose parents were killed in a car accident when he was younger. As a result,  He suffers from a medical condition (tinnitus) which he blocks out by listening to music. Baby is then coaxed by a crime boss named Doc (kelvin spacey) to work for him, in order to pay off his dept. he incurred after he tried to steal one of Doc's cars. In order not to give away any spoilers, I will round up by saying, he lives with his foster father, Nicholas (played by CJ Jones). He also falls in love with a waitress at a diner he goes often (played by Lily James). This is therefore a good plot that should have anyone glued to the TV set.
What did Edgar get wrong?
There are certain areas of the movie where I feel the critics ignored. One of such is the poor representation of the characters. Especially those of the  Female characters. Lily James role as a waitress and a girl friend was just that. Which was in my opinion, difficult to connect with on a realistic level. And it seemed like she was doing the best she could to play a role that didn't want to be played. Their love seemed like a Romeo Juliet thing without William Shakespeare, nor Romeo or Juliet. There was no time where we were shown how their love grew.  We were just told to believe that they were in love. I also did not see the bond between Nicholas and baby. It was as if Wright was in a rush. He gave more screen play to minor characters like Jon Brenthal and Jamie fox.
What did Edgar get right?
The acting of the characters were very okay. If one thing was gotten perfect, I would say, it was the cast selection. With the electrifying performance of kelvin spacey bringing not only seriousness to the movie but also a bit of comedy. Ansel Elgort couldn't have acted better if he had tried. Jamie fox did a wonderful job. In all honesty, I would not rate the acting of any actor below 8/10.
Eger wright did get some things right it might seem. One of such besides the casting was the sound track, movie sequence and cinematography.📀... There was a song for every thing and every scene. Giving the film a sort of musical feel. The sequence of the movie also gets an A. You will not watch a better car chase this year. Not even in fast and furious.😒

In conclusion
But for a movie to be great and memorable in the hearts of the audience, a few things can not be gotten right. Every thing should and must be right in order to rate a movie as great. With this sort of plot, one could guess the end of  the movie without even having to try hard. This is Edgar Wright's 6th movie and a chance to make his mark in the big screen. After failures such as "Scott pilgrims vs the world" and "At worlds end". Maybe in the minds of some he has made his mark. But if you are a fan of well written scripts, then baby driver is not a film for you. Edgar wright as a director needs to find his true calling as to what genre he wants to direct. As of right now, he is still years behind the likes of Christopher Nolan or  Quentin tarantino
