The most underrated movie of 2017

The year has been a year for some good and a few not so good movies. A number of truly amazing movies have slipped through unnoticed or overly criticized by critics. One of such films is king Arthur(legend of the sword). This is one film that has been criticized by the audience as well as the critics, leaving many to refer to it has a blockbuster failure. Rolling stones referred to the movie as an epic bore. While the wall street  journal called It a stinker for the ages.
Also, with a shameful score of 29% on the critic score on rotten tomatoes, and a slightly higher audience score, it is no shock that it brought in just $43.5M against a production budget of $175M
I however feel that though king Arthur might not be winning any awards soon, it in no way deserves its poor reception. And its for this reason that I feel this is the most underrated movie of the year and rightly so.
Despite its harsh criticism, I believe king Arthur though might not be the best movie of the year, isn't far of from the likes.
King Arthur (legend of the sword) is director; Guy Ritchie's retelling of one of the worlds most enduring myths. In his version of the story, Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
So, with a storyline as such, why has it gotten so much negative responses?

While many might not consider legend of the sword a great movie, Guy Ritchie got his star cast right. And with great star power comes great acting.
Jude law, who plays the villain wins and tops all other villains who has stared in a king Arthur film because besides his legendary acting, the role he depicts evil intentions only enviable by others.
And what about our charming and charismatic heroe who seems more or less a younger version of Brad Pitt. Charlie Hunnam is endlessly watchable, If anything. And his ability to play a high born prince bred in a low born gutter earns him yet another of my praise.
Other notable actors including Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen And Eric Bana. Whose characters were courageous as well as loyal, all add give the audience a sense of sympathy thereby leaving one emotionally Attached to them.

Guy Ritchie made a film that had rapid fire dialogs with fast flashbacks editing stlye. Punchlines, quick cuts, creative strong languages and humor. Its also important to remember that while good acting and a good star power might keep you and I impressed and thrilled, it is the laughter's that we remember and that, sometimes is what gives us the urge to restart the film once it has ended.

Now if you like sword fights, you will surely not see a better sword fight this year in any movie. With its much needed occasional slow motion kill shots to give one a feel of the action. This surely is one area it has passed extremely well for me.
No movie is flawless. And to think that this one is, is just wishful thinking. But it is a great movie as seen in its acting, animation, music storyline, pace, use of language, humor and action.
So why aren't we talking more about Guy Ritchie's king Arthur (legend of the sword).
